   I went to this website to see Iris Marie Bloom’s article on Jane Mayer’s book on torture, because apparently she cites my book with Elliot Aronson, “Mistakes were made(but not by me).” Is this the article that was “disappeared” from your website because it is about “politics”? If so, I am horrified. I am a social psychologist and textbook author, and I know all about the positive psychology movement. But to promote a kind of “positive psychology” that requires us all to bury our heads in the sand and not think “unpleasant thoughts” about devastating events and political policies that affect all of us, is no service to humanity–or individuals.

   We didn’t remove the article because it includes unpleasant topics. We have many dark side of life articles on this side including here, here, here, and here, and you can see others at our table of contents.

   We removed the article because it was against our Editorial Policy. The policy is not new for this article. There are plenty of places for people to debate political issues. This is not one of them.

   This website does not speak for all of positive psychology. We are a research-based website focused on positive psychology results that can be useful to our readers.
